A sunny hillside location, sweeping views across the Merano basin and the mountains of South Tyrol: at Hotel Meinhardt in Scena, nature, enjoyment and relaxation come together effortlessly.
Surrounded by apple orchards and vineyards, there is one thing you can truly enjoy here: time. Time for a leisurely breakfast, a hike through the South Tyrolean mountains, a cappuccino and a slice of apple strudel on our sunny terrace – or simply time to let your eyes wander across the landscape.
Scena is also the perfect starting point for discovering South Tyrol. Hiking and walking trails are close by, while cycling allows you to explore the surrounding countryside at your own pace. In winter, several ski areas are easily accessible. The spa town of Merano, with its gardens, cultural attractions and many things to see and do, is just a few minutes away.
After a day outdoors, it is time to slow down: in our wellness area, in the panoramic indoor pool or on our sunny terrace. And in the evening, it is all about good food. With local ingredients, creative dishes and a menu that brings each day of your holiday to a delicious close.

Our hotel near Merano/Meran looks back at a long history. Once upon a time, our house was a little bed & breakfast. Today, Meinhardt is a proud 4-star hotel in Scena/Schenna. It is our mission as your hosts to offer you – old friends as well as new visitors – the most beautiful holiday possible.
1972: Start of construction of the bed & breakfast with 17 double rooms and indoor pool.
1973: On the 1st of April 1973, the hotel welcomes its first guests.
1979: Helga and Luis Kröll take over their parents business.
2001: The dining hall and foyer are renovated and the hotel extended to 25 rooms. Our hotel in Scena/Schenna is now a 3-star-superior hotel.
2002: Peter, son of Helga and Luis, joins the family business.
2004/05: The indoor pool is newly decorated and equipped with a panoramic whirlpool and several saunas.
2010: Takeover of the Passerhaus Residence *** .
2012: Our hotel near Merano/Meran celebrates its 40th anniversary. We are looking forward to another 40 years!
2012: After the purchase of an adjacent lot, the hotel hast its own car park.
2014/15: 10 guest rooms are built, partly from scratch, partly remodelled. Birth of the cosy Scena Stube and extension of the buffet area.
2020: The wellness area is expanded to include a spacious relaxation room. The Meran, Garden Superior and St. Georgen rooms will be renovated, enlarged and equipped with air conditioning. In addition, the hotel bar and dining room as well as the terrace will be enlarged.
2024: Meinhardt receives an additional star and becomes a 4-star hotel in Scena/Schenna.
